Where in the world is Anne?

Hi guys,

Just wanted to give you an update since it looks like I will be out again next week.
I went to visit friends over the long weekend and ended up having issues with dizziness and severe nausea. Pretty much I feel like I am on a boat (never thought I'd be on boat ;) )with seasickness and all. The doctor figures it is some kind of inner ear issue and won't let me fly home until it is better. That's fine with me since I generally feel seasick and dizzy when sitting up and especially when walking/moving.

I have a follow up appt on Friday where, hopefully, I will be feeling better and he'll say it is ok to fly home.

I miss you guys. Feel free to comment on this post or send me e-mail if I can do anything to help this week run smoother for you.

And one more thing....be good. :) I can't wait to see how your project work is turning out.

Example Time Stamp

To View the Word document example for this video, go to Course Materials on Anne Duffy's DP

BP Oil Spill News Story Directions

1) Go to Google videos, select YouTube.com videos, select videos of medium length (4-20 min).
2) Choose one news story to do your analysis on. This is an individual assignment. So avoid choosing the same news story as one of your friends so that your work looks unique and not copied from a friend.
3) Your Header for your Word document should include the news agency (BBC, CNN, ABC, FOX, etc), the Title of the story and the date it aired.
4) Make a table in your Word document with four columns: Time Stamp, Audio (person speaking), Visual (what you see), and Summary.
5) For each change in VISUAL change the time stamp, complete this for the first 4 minutes of your video.
6) Bring a print out of your time stamp table on Tuesday, May 11th

STAR Testing next week

Hey guys,

We are having STAR testing next week on Monday all day, Tuesday all day and Wednesday morning. The schedule is as follows (and it is subject to change but that is highly unlikely):

Monday AM = English
Monday PM = Life Science
Tuesday AM = Geometry
Tuesday PM = World History
Wednesday AM = Chemistry

If you or your parents would like you to look over some sample questions follow the link below. Remember we have not covered every topic so do the best you can and for many questions you can make a good guess or deduce the correct response (through interpreting graphs, for example) even if it is not something that we covered directly.
