Hi guys,
I wanted to give you guys some info on what is going on and ask you to step up and make me proud for exhibition.
My grandfather passed away recently and I flew out for the funeral. My grandmother has dementia meaning that she does not remember most people most of the time, sometimes doesn't realize that her husband is gone, and has a grumpy time in the afternoons. My aunt is going to take care of her at her home in Idaho. I will be helping my aunt drive from South Carolina to Idaho with my grandmother. I am not sure how long it will take exactly because days with my grandmother are unpredictable. My plan is be back before exhibition- but it might be JUST before exhibition night.
So this is my "assignment" for you guys. Own this exhibition! Don't wait for Paul or another adult to tell you what to do, make this YOUR exhibition. You know what needs to get done and we have committees set up. But if you are not on a committee, please step up and help where needed. Make me proud of you guys. Rather than see any downtime as addded social time with your friends, grab your friends and get stuff done and ready for exhibition. Help Paul make a list of things to do, complete things on that list and go out of your way to make this project POL the best it can be. My biggest concern is finishing the shoe project and getting those on the wall. This is a BIG part of the evening and it will need many hands to make it look good.
To confirm that you have read my blog, you need to turn in a half sheet "contract" or agreement to Paul stating that you have read my post and that you will step up to make exhibition the best that you can be. In your half sheet, please be specific as to what you plan to do to help out or where you think that you will be the most helpful.
In times of trouble, we should do the right thing. For me, it is honoring my grandmother and aunt by traveling across country. For you, it is stepping up to help your teachers, peers and school demonstrate what students are REALLY capable of at High Tech High. Feel free to leave a comment to this post so I know I have your support as well.
I am looking forward to seeing how everything comes together.
